William Gibson’s Spook Country: US or UK edition?

Alright, i have to admit i didn't have a clue that William's Gibson new book, Spook Country, is out even though he's one of my favorite writers. Dvorak's post got my attention and i immediately jumped to the official site to learn more about the story. From there i had only once choice: Place the order on Amazon and patiently wait till the book ships to Greece. I usually order stuff from Amazon.com due to lower prices but i thought to check Amazon.co.uk just in case they listed the book in a competitive price. It turned out that both Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk have the book but in different hardcovers. A book is a book even with different hardcovers but i can't help it buying the US edition. It's what the official site shows off and i'm willing to stick with it. Call me crazy but details like this makes me mad and wonder what's in the mind of a book marketer and a publisher. It looks like Americans are more attracted to dark cloudy sky and skyscrapers where British are more fond of darksome narrow streets. Just for the record Amazon.com proved to be cheaper once again: 15.57 U.S. dollars = 11.38 Euros and 11.38 British pounds = 16.81 Euros... plus shipping

Τα βιβλία που περιμένουν να τα διαβάσω

Με λύπη διαπίστωσα ότι τα βιβλία που περιμένουν στην σειρά για ανάγνωση έχουν αρχίσει να πληθαίνουν. Προς το παρόν διαβάζω το All Tomorrow's Parties του αγαπημένου William Gibson για να κλείσει ανεπίσημα και η τριλογία μετά το Virtual Light και το Idoru. Η συνέχεια περιλαμβάνει περισσοτέρη κλασσική και μη επιστημονική φαντασία, πολιτική και επιστήμη με τους ακόλουθους τίτλους σε τυχαία σειρά:
