I have to admit i’m fascinated and excited about Nokia N82. Coming from the dark side of a Samsung Blackjack the only thing i’m missing is the QWERTY keyboard and the sexy looks of the phone.
For about 450€, at least here in Europe, you get a mobile phone, erm, portable multimedia computer with a 5 megapixel camera, Xeon Flash and Carl Zeiss optics. I’m a sucker for macro photography and i’ve been testing N82 capabilities for a week now. Macro mode [close-up mode on the phone's menu] on N82 rocks, it simply does. Check out the rose and the close up of that small apple pie with chocolate my friend Stella baked.

Auto mode for every day’s photography and landscape mode are more than adequate for the average and tech savvy user. Flash is very bright and comes with 4 settings: Auromatic, On, Red-eye, Off. Saving images is fast even when using the camera in its full 5 megapixel glory. I wish i had more control on the image compression rate rather than choosing from the pre-defined profiles Print 5M – Large, Print 3M – Medium, Print 2M – Medium, E-mail 0.8M – Med, MMS 0.3M – Small.
